Ask about the L.A.B.
Parents, carers, young people, schools, professionals and community organisations can contact the L.A.B. to ask about current programmes and whether an activity may be suitable. You don’t need to know exactly which programme to choose before getting in touch.
Enquiries can come from a lot of people
Whether formal consent or referral information is needed depends on the programme and the young person’s circumstances.
- A young person
- A parent or carer
- A family member
- A school or educator
- A youth or community worker
- A case manager or support coordinator
- Another service or community organisation
Four simple steps

Contact the team
Email or call with the name of the programme, workshop or activity you’re asking about.

Share the important information
Tell us the participant’s age, what they’re interested in and any access, communication or support needs. Only share information that’s relevant and that you’re authorised to provide.

Discuss suitability & availability
We’ll explain the programme, current availability, cost and next steps. We may ask for more information before confirming a place.

Register or explore another pathway
If it’s suitable and a place is available, we’ll provide registration details. If it’s not the right fit, we may suggest another option or a suitable community connection.

Planning a visit
The Empower YOUth L.A.B.
1 Feathertop Avenue
Templestowe Lower VIC 3107
Please contact the team before visiting unless you’re attending a confirmed programme, appointment or advertised open event.
Public transport, parking, step-free access, accessible bathroom and sensory / quiet-space information is confirmed and added before go-live — please ask the team for anything you need to know in the meantime.
Keeping programmes within reach
Costs vary between programmes. The L.A.B. works to keep community programmes free or low cost wherever possible, with help from fundraising, grants, sponsorship and fee-for-service work. Every programme page states the exact cost and any funding arrangement. Contact the team before registering if cost may be a barrier.
The L.A.B. is not an emergency service
If someone is in immediate danger, call 000. For urgent mental health or crisis support, contact the appropriate emergency or crisis service.
Verified Victorian crisis contacts are added here after internal review.
Start with a conversation
Tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll explain what’s currently available and the next step.
