Policies & Safety

Our commitments

Child safety, privacy, feedback and accessibility sit at the heart of how the L.A.B. works. Contact the team any time to request current policy documents.

Child safety

A commitment to child safety

The Empower YOUth L.A.B. is committed to the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of every child and young person. Our team works within a trauma-informed approach that prioritises safety, respect, predictability, choice and relationships.

Our practice is supported by Working With Children Check requirements, a code of conduct, clear processes for reporting concerns, and photography and consent procedures. We only publish policies that have been formally approved and are actively followed.

The L.A.B. is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 000.

Privacy

How we handle your information

We collect only the information we need to respond to your enquiry and support participation. Please don’t include unnecessary medical, legal or highly sensitive personal information in a first enquiry.

Your information is handled in line with the organisation’s privacy approach and is not shared beyond what’s needed to support you.

Feedback & complaints

We welcome your feedback

Feedback helps us improve the L.A.B. You can raise feedback or a complaint — including any concern relating to child safety, privacy, conduct or service quality — by contacting the team directly.

We take every concern seriously and aim to respond respectfully and promptly.

Accessibility

Access & inclusion

We want everyone to feel able to take part. If you have communication, access, sensory or support needs, tell the team before registering and we’ll explain whether an activity and the available staffing are suitable.

Detailed access information — step-free entry, accessible parking and bathroom, quiet spaces and public transport — is confirmed and published here. In the meantime, please ask the team for anything you need to know.
